Leigh Smith is a vibrant, at
times whimsical, often serious but always fun actor. He first began
performing at a young age and his first lead role was in a school production
"Kids in Paradise" where he played a kooky witch Doctor by the name
of "Gunja". From there, I continued roles in High School such as
"Godspell" and "Pirates of Penzance". He fell in love with
performing and went on to undertake the "Walt Disney World"
International Program. Which got him working for the best entertainers in the
world and spurred his passion for performing even higher.
He then returned home to Australia and and enrolled
at the Television and Film Academy of Australia (TAFTA) directed by John Orcisk
under the tutelage of the top directors, casting
directors and professionals internationally, he also worked with renowned vocal
coach Stephen Costan. He has also completed acting workshops in Los
Angeles at Stella Adler Academy and spent a year creating magic with
the best of them through the “Walt Disney World Academic Exchange Program”. He
has set experience on shows like Neighbors, Winners and Losers as well as
corporate commercials and promotional work.
Leigh’s capabilities are
endless and can bring you to tears of laughter or sorrow with a talent that is
almost sinful.
His advice to aspiring performers; "You were
born an original, don't die a copy, Never change who you are, no matter how
many people tell you that you need to do this to make it. There is a place and
a niche for everyone, never dull yourself down to fit other people's
expectations.” As for his future he says he plans to Act, Act and Act! “I plan
on continuing to develop myself and really putting myself out there in the
market. When you wake up every day wanting to do one thing, your future is
pretty clear.”
Keep an eye on this
gifted young man – very soon he will be everywhere.
